Terminal Human Resources Coordinator

Job summary:
The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at two Hastings business locations. This position coordinates various HR administrative functions including data and analytics, benefits, recruitment and selection, onboarding and training.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Create and maintain advertisements for open positions
· Establish and maintain a process for receiving and tracking all applications for employment and review all applications to make sure critical questions have been answered. Schedule and conduct new employee interviews and make appropriate hiring decisions and recommendations.
· Complete and document all pre-employment tasks including background checks, former job verification, applicant pre-screening drug testing and contacting employers regarding previous accidents and FMCSA drug testing.
· Create all new employee paperwork and files in accordance with company standards, including the training files, DOT qualification files, drug testing files, I-9, and medical files, and maintain the same for all current employees while following state and federal regulations.
· Conduct verbal and written verifications of employment
· Work with management to ensure that our training program for new employees is up to date and conduct employee orientations and training
· Maintain Versatran software updates of employee certifications and communicate with drivers and/or schedule re-certifications including the behind the wheel evaluation and MVR review/re-certification no less than 30 days prior to expiration
· Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
· Assists with benefit open enrollment and ongoing questions.
· Participate in the annual kick-off and end of year meetings and ensure that all documentation of safety meeting is recorded in employee training files
· Communicate new employee information to dispatch and payroll
· Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred
· Microsoft Office
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to operate general office equipment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to maintain confidential information
· Transportation/logistics and training experience is preferred.
· CDL or willingness to attain is highly preferred
