As a highly-skilled Pediatric Services Registered Nurse you will provide excellent patient care to patients in our Pediatric Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care units. In addition to providing care to these patients you will offer support to the parents, with a focus on emotional encouragement and education. In this role:
You will be responsible for the delivery of evidenced based and family centered patient care to age birth to 18 years of age in the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). This may include caring for critically ill children involving respiratory cardiovascular, neurologic, hematologic/oncologic, endocrine/metabolic, gastrointestinal, renal, and other multisystem and other illnesses and diseases.You will perform life-sustaining care for pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit PICU.You will be able to evaluate and document each patient’s response to interventions and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.You will have demonstrated knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. This includes a sound knowledge of emergency medications.You will work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.You will educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans and at home care procedures.You will be able to perform general nursing duties in a medical/surgical observation unit for pediatric patients.You will learn to identify and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicate with social service/discharge planner regarding both in hospital and post discharge needs.You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.What qualifications you will need:Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateEmergency Nurse Pediatric Course Certificate must be obtained within 1 year of employment start datePALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateRegistered NurseAssociate Degree, or Bachelors DegreeOne to two years of past experience as RN in a hospital or pediatric care setting requiredCurrent or recent critical care experience preferredRecruiter: Questions feel free to reach out to Tanya Covert, [email protected] via text/telephone 208.709.2261 (mobile)This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).The largest medical facility in the region,Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center(EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 plus patient beds.
