Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nurse Supervisor coordinates the activities of professional and non-professional personnel to function as a team providing services to meet patient/family and staff needs in the absence of the department manager and hospital administration. As a professional, you will have a responsibility to maintain clinical competence through Continuing Education, literature review, and participation in the Quality Improvement process.
- Collaborate with department leadership to optimize staffing of nursing units within available resources and productivity benchmarks.
- Rounds to all units 2-3 times/shift and serves as a clinical resource and role model for patient care personnel.
- Encourage patient care staff to explore innovations in delivery of patient care, and for better utilization of time and nursing personnel.
- Provide guidance and counsel to nursing personnel in absence of department leadership.
- Prioritization, coordination and collaboration of all transfers through off site transfer center and centralized bed placement.
- Organize daily huddles to discuss capacity and staffing
- Oversee multidisciplinary rounds with hospitalists on daily basis
- Respond to all in-facility emergency codes
- Provides guidance on productivity, quality and customer service metrics
- Provide service recovery to patients and families
Qualifications:
- A Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing preferably with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Current NH or compact state RN license
- Minimum of 3-5 years clinical nursing experience
