The Maintenance Specialist I (Painter) performs restoration, renovation, and maintenance work.
Prepares areas for painting and paints interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and trim. s to the Maintenance Technician IV (Painter) and works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor II, Assistant Plant Maintenance Manager and Plant Maintenance Manager. Follows established
planned Maintenance Programs. Applies proper methods, techniques, and procedures in the
maintenance and repair of buildings. Follows instructions, both written and verbal. Reads, understands, and utilizes Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location
Prepare interior and exterior ceilings, walls, and trim before painting. Properly paint prepared area.
Mix various colors of paints needed throughout the facility.
Ability to use proper tools for each job performed.
Clean and take proper tools for each job performed.
Clean paint and glass in areas after completing work assignments.
Replace broken window glasses and glazes with proper putty as needed.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
Stands emergency maintenance on-call on a rotating basis according to department policy and procedures.
2. Knowledge of all painting equipment (airless sprayer, sanders, glass cutter pressure washer, Genie Lift)
3. Knowledge of mait tinting and mixing techniques.
4. Basic computer skills
5. Ability to work from high ladders and/or scaffolding.
6. Ability to work in extreme heat and cold weather.
7. Good reading and writing skills.

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, healthcare workers are considered to be at significant risk for acquiring or transmitting hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and influenza. All of these diseases are vaccine-preventable. As a result, state hospital policy requires employees be vaccinated according to their level of contact with individuals. In the event you choose to not be immunized for the influenza virus, you may be required to wear a mask and take other protective measures.
