Healthcare Billing Hiring For Medical Account Receivable Specialist at Bakersfield, CA, United States Full Time

Job Description

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in medical account receivables. Eagerness to learn on the job and grow within the position. Has working knowledge of Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. The Account Receivable Specialist is responsible for initiating billing claims, actively processing all denials, and ensuring follow-up on the collection efforts to ensure timely reimbursement for services provided.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and understand medical terminology.
• Verify payor source and insurance eligibility.
• Ability to apply correct modifier and HCPCS to claims.
• Submit accurate claims utilizing billing software.
• Reconcile billing errors on a daily basis.
• Manage account receivables to maintain payments within 90 days.
• Maintain excellent communication with company management and co-workers.
• Must be computer literate and possess the ability to acquire a working knowledge of all pertinent software related to the position.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local government regulations and agencies.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical coding and/or billing certification or 3+ years prior work experience.
• 1-2 years of prior experience
• Customer service, data entry, and clerical experience required.
• Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, coordinating, and organizational skills.
• Have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Read, write, speak and understand the English language and possess good communication skills.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
