Associate Roles and Responsibilities
JOB TITLE: Host

POSITION SUMMARY
Warmly welcome every guest into our space. Hosts will be the first point of contact for the guest and will begin their dining experience. Host will control the flow of the dining room and communicate and support all other positions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Welcomes each guest with positive energy and positive speech
Present professionalism at all times in manor and appearance, relating to HH Dress and Grooming standards
Perform shift opening checklist
Maintains cleanliness of common areas and maintains a clean, clear entryway
Takes and manages reservations and walk-ins through the use of Resy and makes notes as needed
Manages the flow of the restaurant through communication with the lead host, floor manager, kitchen and bar
Manages to-go warmer and cooler and communicates with guest regarding orders and ensures all to-go orders are properly assembled before guest departs
Answers phone and responds to messages
Accommodates special requests whenever possible
Writes and gives chits to servers after seating tables and communicate proactively regarding notes and special requests
Bring immediate attention to substandard quality of service, food, or beverage as well as feedback from departing guests
Adhere to sanitation and safety policies and ensure that all service is in compliance with Utah alcohol laws
Coordinate and communicate proactively with all associates
Elevates any issues to Lead Host and Manager
Proactively manages par levels of menus and comment cards
Keeps track of Lost and Found
Attends pre-serve and stays current with restaurant knowledge through continued training
Complete closing duty checklist and weekly checklist items. Support all staff in any other tasks that require completion or are asked by a manager
Connect with customers while anticipating their needs
Ensure iPads are charged
Ensures highchairs are in good condition and are clean
Provides a warm goodbye to guests, letting them know we look forward to seeing them again
