We are seeking a Transportation Coordinator for a long term temporary opportunity with an automotive industry leader! The Transportation Coordinator is part of a team that handles every vehicle that is destined to a US customer. We set the first impression to the dealers when we deliver the product to them and continuously look for improvements to enrich the journey with our transportation carriers and

deliver experiences as exceptional as our cars.

The Transportation Coordinator role is key in ensuring our transportation network stays strong and healthy by helping maintain the performance of the network and our carriers. The Transportation Coordinator role will not only identify concerns, but also help diagnose and prescribe solutions to help maximize the efficiencies in costs, quality of service, and transit time.

The Transportation Coordinator responsibilities:

• Manage vehicle tracking in the pipeline.

• Monitor railcar status, aged inventory at rail ramps, bad orders, vehicle returns to Ports, damaged/vandalized units, month end tracking, and Canadian rail cars interchange tracking.

• Coordinate with railroads and trucking to expedite and maintain movement of vehicles.

• Generate necessary reports and communicate to Regions, Management, and Carriers on status of vehicles.

• Perform necessary route diversions to not disrupt pipeline flow.

• Set up new dealer, ramp, and Port destinations in the system.

• Trial and test routes in the system.

• Network Performance Perform studies and reports to improve the service, cost, quality, transit time and efficiency of the current network.

• Perform studies and reports for future network development.

• Coordinate the truck and rail carrier biannual performance reviews

• Manage Carrier surveys, response rate, and summarize the data results.

• Support in the data collection of the carrier recognition program.

The Transportation Coordinator qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• 5 years of experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management required

• 1 – 3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferred

• Strong analytical skills and strategic planning.

• Must demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills in providing solutions to internal and external departments and management.

• Proficient working with database software, mainframe database tools, and Microsoft

• Office products (Word, Excel, Access)

• Demonstrate financial acumen. Utilize fundamental concepts of finance to manage

• budgets, forecast costs, and provide information to account for the financial impact of

• decision-making.

• Demonstrate understanding of carrier negotiation and contracting, transportation routing

• systems and freight payment systems.

• Communicate effectively and efficiently (oral and written) with working levels,

• management, dealers, and vendors.

• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
