Job description
Heritage Restaurant Brands is a dynamic, growing company (37 restaurants as of 10/1/21) based in San Luis Obispo, CA that is looking for a qualified Controller. This position will report directly to the CFO and will be an integral part of the short and long-term financial strategy of the organization. The requirements of the position are as follows:
Duties and Responsibilities
– Responsible for the accounting and reporting for multiple entities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
– Prepares annual budgets and forecasts
– Reconciles all accounts on a monthly basis
– Responsible for managing cash and cash forecasting
– Completes state and local tax filings
– Coordinates with outside CPA firms in the preparation of tax returns and annual audit
– Oversees the accounts payable process
– Prepare financial analyses and models as requested
– Assist franchisees and restaurant managers with financial related issues
– Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, CPA a plus
– Strong time management and organizational skills
– Attention to detail
– Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
– Knowledge of local, state and federal tax requirements
– Proficient in Excel, Word, and QuickBooks
– Restaurant accounting experience preferred
