HILLS AND GRANT, an award-winning San Francisco Bay Area Interior Design firm focused on high-end residential design, seeks a talented Residential Interior Designer.
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of work experience in the architecture and design industry, including thorough knowledge of developing and producing design/construction deliverables from concept through construction detailing and specifications and schedules. The Designer will work with the Principal Designer and other team members on all phases of interior design from conception to final installation in a collaborative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Explore and identify the client’s goals and requirements, develop documents and visuals that illustrate those needs
• Draft working drawings, including preliminary space plans, furnishing and floor plans, elevations, sections, perspectives, and interior detailing
• Create renderings and other presentation documents to convey the design intent to the client
• Coordinate and collaborate with other trade professionals involved in the project, including but not limited to architects, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and various specialty contractors to achieve the best possible project outcome
• Manage the studio’s resource library, maintain vendor contacts for trades, interior furnishings, fixtures, and finishes
• Field measure and accurately document building conditions
• Pricing and budget management
• Create and maintain FF&E schedules, coordinate purchasing, establish timelines, track orders, coordinate deliveries
• Manage multiple projects from design concept to installation; collaborate and coordinate with Principal and team throughout
• Site visits to oversee design execution
REQUIREMENTS
• Interior Design Degree
• Minimum of 4 years of work interior design experience, working in high-end residential design
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD or Revit and possessing excellent rendering skills using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Project Management experience, including creating and maintaining project schedules and overseeing purchasing and budgets
• Experience and creative talent in selecting and specifying all elements of interior design
• Capacity to interact effectively with the design team on multiple projects
• Valid drivers’ license and car
