Hiram College is seeking candidates for the position of Campus Safety Officer. This is a full-time, 40-hour a week, non-exempt position.

The position of Campus Safety Officer will provide safety services for the students, faculty, staff, and guests, as well as buildings, grounds, and equipment of Hiram College. The Campus Safety Office seeks to ensure a safe learning and working environment for all. The position will report directly to the Director of Campus Safety. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform thorough safety patrols of the building and grounds. Provide safety and/or escort assistance as requested. Lock and unlock buildings according to daily needs. Ensure the policies of Hiram College are followed and enforce them as necessary. Maintain a daily activity log. File appropriate reports. Collaborate successfully with Village Police, Fire Officials, and other emergency responders. Report maintenance issues. Develop and maintain a positive rapport with the Hiram College community. Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Campus Safety. Must be able to use basic functions of technology and the iParq ticketing system. Use of email, digital cameras, and Microsoft Office is required. Must be able to communicate (written and orally) clearly, effectively, and in a timely manner with community members, Hiram Village Police and Fire Departments, and other campus constituents. Qualifications
A High School Diploma is required. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License in good standing. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time.
