Hiram College invites applications for the position of Human Resources Coordinator. This is a part-time, non-exempt staff position with flexible hours.

The Human Resources Coordinator will lead and coordinate routine functions of the Human Resources Department including recruiting, hiring, onboarding; benefits and leave administration; and offboarding. The HR Coordinator will provide administrative support for the HR Department.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following*:
Recruiting
• Process requisitions for the creation of new positions and replacement positions
o Ensure job descriptions and job posts are updated
• Post jobs to various job boards
• Draft offer letters
Onboarding
• New hire paperwork
o Background checks, transcripts, payroll forms, handbook acknowledgments, benefits’ information,
and enrollments
o Maintain new hire spreadsheet
• Participate in the development of onboarding program with new software
Benefits Administration
• Become an expert on Hiram College benefit plans
• First point of contact for employee questions
• Update benefit admin websites monthly or as needed
Leave Administration
• Become an expert on Hiram College LOA policies
• Respond to requests for LOA’s
• Administration of FMLA
Offboarding
• Ensure exit procedures are followed
• Provide employees with exit interview form
• Schedule Exit Interviews with exiting employees with Executive Director of HR
• Notification to staff of resignations
• Maintain resignation/termination spreadsheet
HR Office Administration
• Become highly knowledgeable of Hiram College policies and procedures
• Process interoffice and USPS mail
• Handle phone requests for HR general information
• HR projects including tracking employee COVID-19 vaccination status and waivers
• May include supervision of student workers
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree is required in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field.
• SHRM-CP or PHR Certification is highly preferred.
• Three to five years of related experience in Human Resources is required.
• Knowledge of recruiting, benefits administration, and FMLA administration is required.
• Must have the ability to learn new policies, processes, methods of administration, and software.
• Strong written communication skills are required including grammar and proofreading skills.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, i.e., be a great verbal and non-verbal communicator
• Solid commitment to personal integrity, ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Must be proficient in Word, Excel and have experience with HRIS software, preferably Banner.
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines is required.
• Must have the ability to develop relationships with and work well with a diverse employee base.
