Staff and Payroll Accountant

$55k-$70k DOE

A well-established Utah company is looking to fill its Staff and Payroll Accountant position. Located in Salt Lake City, you will be working on-site with the accounting and payroll team as the staff and payroll accountant and will facilitate these functions in-house. If you are well versed in payroll function and know how to prepare ledgers and handle data reports, and can connect well with your team, this is the job for you! Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing ledger entries with earnings and deductions
• Entering/calculating payroll information and maintaining our payroll system
• Preparing general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts for payroll/benefits
• Creating payroll reports for executive managers to review
• Preparing payroll and tax reports for federal, state, and local agencies when required
• Assisting in the management of annual and other external audits, reviews, and other tasks as assigned
• Filing quarterly and state tax returns, as well as making the associated payments
• Reconciling bank accounts, payroll accounts, and credit cards monthly

You will qualify by bringing these things to the table:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Proficiency in payroll/accounting ERP software (Microsoft Dynamic GP is preferred)
• Extensive experience in preparing ledger entries and processing payments
• Experience in conducting reconciliations and gathering data for reporting
• Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports
