Hitachi Energy is seeking a Shipping Manager for its Jefferson City, Missouri location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient logistics process flow of information for the local business unit and products to achieve defined targets for customer service level, operation costs and inventory levels.

Your responsibilities

• Identify, implement, and lead opportunities/logistics improvement projects to streamline flow across the entire supply chain
• Set up and manage integration of transport and logistics suppliers and customers within the supply chain
• Ensure optimization of warehousing, loading, and shipping operations whilst ensuring all local operations are performed to respective quality standards and in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and a safe workplace
• Identify, select, and manage local logistics service providers to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in relation to quality, cost, and service standards
• Monitor, report, and optimize total logistics costs within area of responsibility
• Deliver on budget and targets within the framework
• Ensure the T&L sourcing performance targets are achieved
• Guides motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both Hitachi Energy and the employee

Your background

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field and eight (8) or more years of relevant experience
• Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
• BSc/BA in logistics or relevant field and/or Six Sigma Certifications preferred
• Understanding of forecasting and budgeting
• Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of SAP MM
