Description
Reporting to the Advertising Manager, the Copywriter will be responsible for writing engaging, impactful, and purposeful copy and content for a variety of audiences, channels, and platforms while maintaining university brand and editorial standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with Creative Services team members to brainstorm and develop copy for a variety of marketing materials.
- Conducts research on features and benefits of academic programs and admissions processes for clear, targeted messaging in print and digital marketing collateral.
- Prepares copy on a wide range of publications for prospective students including print, social, web, and paid ads.
- Collaborates with the video team to write scripts for marketing videos.
- Creates, updates, and maintains the university’s brand manifesto.
- Writes copy for all the university’s paid ads.
- Assures all writing is consistent with established guidelines set by the university and completes assignments in accordance with set standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1 year of experience working in a professional writing position.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in advertising, communications, English, or marketing preferred.
- Experience in higher education.
- Experience writing both sales-driven and educational copy.
