Performs routine inspections of vehicles and supplies to ensure road safety.
Plans route to and from customers’ businesses and adjusts for traffic and/or construction.
Ensures that manifests are complete and accurate.
Delivers merchandise to customers and contacts customers if they are not present.
Loads truck with daily merchandise to be delivered and unloads merchandise for customers.
Pulls orders to match manifests.
Prepares and maintains records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Provides assistance to resolve customer issues.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
Plan routes and meet pickup schedules.
Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retains fuel/toll receipts.
Comply with trucks driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Report defects, accidents or violations.
Safely transporting materials and equipment from specified locations in a timely manner
Communicating with teams on arrival and departure of materials and equipment
Assisting with the loading and offloading, products, and materials
Implementing all safety protocols while loading and unloading, including security of transport items
Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning and vehicle maintenance
Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings
Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management
Takes calls from residents or staff either on their own or a resident(s) behalf to schedule a ride.
Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports any mechanical or electrical failure to the Transportation Coordinator. Using own judgment, determines if assigned vehicle is safe to drive.
Picks up residents or staff at the appointed time and place. Escorts residents to the vehicle. Helps resident with packages, walkers, wheelchairs or other impediments to easy entry into the vehicle.
Ensures resident, and wheelchair if in use, are safely secured with seat belt or locking mechanisms before beginning the trip.
Follows all road safety rules. Reports any accident immediately to the Transportation Coordinator. Follows procedures for obtaining emergency roadside assistance.
Completes passenger logs and turns them in to the Transportation Coordinator.
Resolves complaints regarding vehicle cleanliness, comfort, and/or safety.
Makes meal deliveries to shut-in residents.
Obtains room set up requirements for the day and following morning and sets up the room per the noted arrangements. May assist the Activities Coordinator with room decoration.
Manages the various sound and video projection systems as requested.
Complies with all policies including those regarding dress, attendance, and conduct.
Evaluates work processes and methods and submits recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
Attends scheduled training programs for professional development that includes, at a minimum, trainings required by Williamsburg Landing and by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Responsible for compliance with all processes including and not limited to: timekeeping, attendance and punctuality, vehicle safety and cleanliness, safety and OSHA requirements, handheld /scanning device and usage, proper handling and storage of all samples from the client office to the drop off point, proper packing of specimens for shipment, end of day vehicle checks, dress code, code of conduct and all Company / Regional / Logistics policies and procedures.
Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of specimens, supplies, reports, equipment and materials to the appropriate destination.
Responsible for operating company vehicle safely as well as maintaining a valid driver’s license and driving record within acceptable company guidelines.
Ensure route is started with proper equipment tools. i.e., route scanner sync/paper logs, carry bag, properly prepared coolers for 3 separate thermal storage, dry ice, cell phone, keys, door hangers, observation reports, etc.
Follow route as scheduled/sequenced while allowing for will-call stops and special pickups.
Maintain specimen integrity at all times, including the utilization of specimen carry bag to transport specimens from client office/lock box to vehicle by temperature.
Follow all scan/documentation requirements including but not limited to tissue/irreplaceable and frozen tracking processes.
Place “Door Hanger” for will-call clients with no specimens out. Place “Door Hanger” for Daily clients who regularly provide specimens but none are available at scheduled pick up. The RSR is required to notify their Supervisor and/or Team Leader of service issue for a next morning follow up.
Communicate with Dispatch before leaving an area to ensure will-calls have been cleared.
Keep route information, sequencing and all client notes up to date.
Attendance and punctuality in meetings and training sessions.
Meet all training requirements in a timely manner as assigned.
Properly care for and maintain company equipment including scanners, telephones, vehicles etc… Communicate any deficiencies with equipment.
Document and provide appropriate client satisfaction information to Logistics Management.
Maintain professionalism and a service orientation with clients using Everyday Excellence and the Five Guiding Principles.
