Position Title: CDL A Driver

Status: Part-time/Seasonal

Department: Logistics

Reports to: Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

Job Summary

The CDL A Driver will safely and effectively complete regular pick-ups and/or deliveries to transport freight to and/or from the hatchery to locations within an approximate 150-mile radius. Flexible daytime hours, Monday through Wednesday. Hours vary based on seasonality.

Role and Responsibilities

• Operates day cab semi and 28’ trailer according to all state and federal transportation laws.
• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations
• Loads and/or unloads freight
• Completes all required paperwork relevant to pick-ups and/or deliveries
• Ensures freight is protected and secured
• Is polite and professional in all interactions
• Reliably completes all logs, reports, inspections, etc. relevant to vehicle and/or freight
• Communicates regularly and effectively with management, accounting, and other staff
• All other duties as assigned by management

Job Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Class A CDL
• High School diploma preferred
• Must be able to pass background check and drug testing as required by federal and/or state regulations.
• Speak and read English well enough to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs, and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records
• Meet all Federal and State requirements for certification and CDL licensing for Class A, combination vehicle with air brakes, including current DOT medical certification, meeting the requirements set forth by Section 391.41, and corporate requirements.
• Have satisfactory, verifiable experience, and/or appropriate training in Interstate Commercial, Class A vehicle operation and the transportation of freight.
• Able to accurately and legibly complete all required paperwork and associated DOT Requirements.
