There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Community Services, Community Assistance Division, located in Honolulu. Under the general direction of the Director with broad latitude for exercise of independent judgment, the Housing Services Administrator is directly responsible for administering housing-related services and programs designed primarily to serve low and moderate-income individuals and families including rental assistance, property rehabilitation, and homeownership.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, sociology, city planning or a related field.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Six (6) years of professional experience involving community planning, urban renewal or related activities, two (2) of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
Non-Qualifying Experience:
Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for this position. Your overall experience must reflect the scope and level of responsibility that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position and the possession of comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required.
