HR Works’ rapidly growing Leave and Benefits area is currently recruiting for a full-time Leave and Benefits Administrator who will be focused on supporting one of HR Works large clients, and act as an internal resource to the HR Works team that is assigned to the client. This position can be fully remote or work on-site in our Rochester, NY or Syracuse, NY locations! This role is ideal for an ambitious self-starter looking to independently contribute to an emerging team while supporting and aligning directly with the Manager of Leave and Benefits Administration.
Some key functions of this position include:
Full scale, direct administration of day-to-day benefit and leave functions for a singular, large client of HR Works. This includes direct processing of employer leave programs, benefit plans, employee communication, distribution of employee documents, and responding to employee inquiries and issues. Proactively communicating with employees regarding benefit inquires, leave requests and return-to-work. (50%)
Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all service processes and deliverables, serving as a go-to resource to support team members, and helping to address escalated client issues. (30%)
Identifying areas for process improvement and creating, implementing, and facilitating streamlined processes and written procedures. (20%)
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 8-10 years in employee benefits and/or leave administration experience required.
Benefits and/or Leave Administration experience supporting a large employer- 1,000+ benefits eligible employees.
Extensive HRIS experience is required.
Experience leading teams is highly preferred.
Project management experience is preferred but not required.

Excellent customer service and follow through skills.
Proficient computer and technology skills; ability to learn and use multiple systems and software.
Ability to maintain calmness and composure while working under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Expertise of benefit plans and compliance requirements.
Expertise in State and Federal Leave programs as well as ADA accommodations.
Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills.
Strong administrative and documentation skills.
Organized and detail oriented.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve by adapting knowledge and experience.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree with commensurate work experience is required.
