General Description
The Commercial Account Manager II services and manages a book of insurance business while providing professional, courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, business partners, and HUB colleagues. In providing the highest level of support to our clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues you will positively impact customer satisfaction and client retention. In addition, your account management expertise will support the organic growth goals of the organization by supporting Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business which includes account rounding, cross-selling and the development of new business. Account Manager IIs will cover larger and /or more complex clients and have a deep understanding of these accounts’ requirements and may assist in preparing request for proposal requirements responses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides primary (main) day-to-day point of contact for clients
Manage increasingly complex and larger book of accounts – or something to get at complexity and size
Acquires understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability; assess client risk to ensure no coverage gaps exist
Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience based judgment to resolve; may also negotiate with underwriters and carriers
Increasingly drive/execute strategic account services for clients (with less oversight/involvement from Producers and/or Account Executives)
Prepares, executes or delegates all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts and tasks as is appropriate
Key contributor for executing critical path work for clients; identifies opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of other HUB products and services where appropriate
Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact clients
Capable of resolving complex customer service problems and have the knowledge and experience needed to support senior-level sales and Account Executive staff
Typically assigned to the largest/most important clients and / or to those clients having the most complex needs
Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessary
Maintains data and documentation in the organizations broker management systems
Manage client relationship and troubleshoot client service needs as they arise
May travel for client meetings up to 25% of the time
Work Experience Requirements
5 plus years of applicable insurance experience.
Strong ability to listen, discern, and prioritize with clients, colleagues and carrier representatives based on a thorough understanding of relevant issues.
Experience with influencing C-level executives
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills
Adapt to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances, or standards; respond appropriately to changes in the work setting
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Significant skill in handling competing demands and projects
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate responsibility
Ability to utilize and be proficient in broker management systems
Education Requirements
Four-year college degree preferred
Licensing or certification Requirements
Relevant Insurance licenses per state/regional statutes
Obtained professional designation (e.g. AIC, AAI, ARM, CIC, CPCU)
