Logistics Coordinator (Freight Broker)

Job Summary
The candidate will join the team at Hurricane Logistics to coordinate inbound and outbound transportation solutions for customers, while also focusing on new business development efforts to grow their own book of business. The candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
l Responsibility for sourcing capacity solutions for customer freight shipments
l Building strong and lasting relationships with both customer and carrier networks
l Identify problems as they arise and provide solutions for day to day operations with shipments
l Responsible for achieving daily and weekly minimum expectations and KPI’s with goals that vary based on directives from management
l Validating carrier qualifications to meet company minimums
l New business development efforts to support organizational growth
A qualified candidate will have:
l Customer service experience
l High-energy and confidence on the phone
l Excellent negotiation skills
l Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a 3PL environment
l High attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
l Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
l Ability to multi task
l Excellent written and verbal communication skills
l Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
A well-qualified individual will have all of the above, but also:
l 2-5+ years previous freight brokerage experience
l 2-5+ years previous experience working with GSA accounts
l Experience in developing new business within the transportation industry
l A working knowledge of transportation distribution strategies
l Strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
l A strong work ethic, and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
l A strong sense of urgency with his or her work
