Job Description
IAT has an immediate opening for an Account Manager located in our Scottsdale, Arizona office.
This role will provide overall day-to-day customer service and support to underwriters and will act as a liaison between the organization and agents, working closely with both entities to ensure client needs are being met.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Enters new and renewal business into proprietary rating systems.
- Uploads applications using company automated systems and sees through to policy issuance.
- Prepares account service-related documents such as proposals and other client communications and correspondence.
- Assists in renewal process, reviewing for accuracy and making requested renewal changes.
- Processes endorsements and audit transactions through communication with agents and underwriters.
- Processes new business declines, non-renewals and cancellations.
- Reviews all company correspondence to ensure applicability to client needs.
- Maintains account files in accordance with established procedures
- Researches Commercial Lines Manual, other ISO documentation and state-specific DOI rules to clarify coverages and forms.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with underwriters and agents.
- Creates and/or provides feedback on project timelines.
- Answers and processes internal information requests.
- May participate and prepare for pre-renewal meetings.
- Prepares, submits and tests IT programming requests.
- Prepares and audits various monthly reports.
- Volunteers and participates in projects/assignments as representative for Operations.
- Works with compliance department to clarify company state filings.
- Improves/refines professional skills through continuing education and maintaining familiarity with industry trends and standards.
- Assists in training of other employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required (Bachelors’ degree is preferred).
- 3+ years underwriting support experience preferred.
- Equivalent education and experience would be a Bachelors’ degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO and Commercial Lines Manual.
- Knowledge of Underwriting support processes and procedures, basic mathematics and problem-solving techniques.
- Strong keyboarding skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources in a variety of settings.
- Strong PC skills required.
- Must be detail and action oriented.
- Ability to work in fast-paced and deadline-driven production environment.
- Ability to obtain states licenses, if needed.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to set and maintain priorities.
- Ability to adapt to change
