Iberia Foods is looking for an experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee their multi-site warehouse operations. The company sells, distributes, and promotes a complete and diverse portfolio of leading brands from the Caribbean & Latin America. With offices and distribution centers in NY, NJ, MA, IL, GA and FL, Iberia Foods has established a national footprint through its own sales force, third-party wholesalers and national chain accounts.
SUMMARY: The Regional Operations Manager will be a key driver and will have a significant impact on the company’s competitive position and financial performance. The role is responsible for overseeing three distribution operations located Florida and Georgia. This is a newly created role and will report directly to the CEO.
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multi-site facilities. This person will optimize and centralize processes, oversee and implement improvement initiatives focusing on reducing costs while maximizing profitability, create operational efficiencies, improve safety and overall quality and will develop a comprehensive warehouse operations strategy. The ideal person will have experience in transforming warehouse functions, leading and motivating multi-site teams and the ability to set clear performance metrics.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Oversee multi-facility warehouse asset’s, operations and capital in compliance with company’s policies and vision, including receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.
· Work closely with executive leadership and provide critical input, contributing to the
overall strategy.
· Create and implement short and long-term planning programs and policies to ensure they are in compliance and support business goals.
· Centralize processes and implement cost savings where appropriate.
· Lead team of warehouse managers and indirect reports: train, coach and mentor employees.
· Guide Warehouse managers in efficient layout and space utilization.
· Ensure that facilities are utilizing optimal operational policies and procedures.
· Oversee adherence to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.
· Ensure that all health and safety, hygiene and security policies and standards are being implemented and followed.
· Oversee stock controls; ensure they are being managed properly and reconciled with data storage system.
· Ensure that work routes, and tasks are being managed and assigned appropriately.
· Review reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc.) and incorporate improvements and changes as needed to drive efficiencies.
· Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
· Report on operations metrics to evaluate distribution center in productivity, quality, safety, and other KPIs.
· Lead and manage through change; act as a cultural change agent.
· Utilize analytics to measure overall performance, determine gaps, and implement new tools, programs and policies accordingly.
· Collaborate and work effectively with the cross-functional areas of the organization, as well as external customers to achieve both short-term and long-term business results.
· Act as the face of the company with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
· Resolve issues as they arise. with a drive to find solutions.
· Identify key trends and competitor activity in the marketplace; plan initiatives and priorities that support company goals and customer needs.
Skills and Experience:
· 7+ years of progressively more responsible roles in warehouse operations and distribution, in a food manufacturing facility.
· Ability to think strategically, make effective business decisions and put plans into action.
· Inspirational leader with experience motivating and working with multi location teams; effective coaching, mentoring, training, and team-building skills.
· Ability to initiate and implement large scale projects including capital equipment, layout changes, safety, quality and repair/maintenance initiatives, remaining within budget and time constraints.
· Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
