The Role We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Human Resources Assistant to work in our beautiful New York office, with plenty of flexibility to work from home as well. This is an excellent opportunity to use your HR skills to learn rapidly in a growing organization. You will gain exposure to nearly every HR function and will learn directly from the senior HR team. You will support the New York office and assist with Intranet maintenance, compliance and training. Many people will rely on your ability to complete projects to a high professional standard. Reporting to HR Manager, you will be responsible for: * Managing the company intranet platform, which involves maintaining the functionality of the current system, and also working with the team to develop fun and interactive ideas to drive engagement, and ensure user friendliness. * Ensuring background and reference checks are completed. * Ensuring compliance with company training/safety requirements, and I9 processes. * Ensuring all new employees complete the required onboarding assessments in a timely manner (OHS assessments, anti-harassment and cybersecurity) * Assisting with internal and external HR related inquiries or requests, as directed. * Providing clerical and administrative support to the HR team. * Keeping up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices. * Other duties as assigned. Experience * 0-2 years of experience as an HR Assistant or Intern. * A Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources preferred; related experience and degrees considered. * Experience writing for a professional audience. * Familiarity with online research techniques, including SHRM. * Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. * Experience working in a fast-paced professional environment, with the ability to work to tight timeframes. Skills and Personal Traits * A deep interest in the Human Resources function. * This is a great position for anyone who is tech-savvy and has experience working with an Intranet database. * Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information. * Must be a fast learner, dependable, able to follow instructions, and respond to management direction. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an acute attention to detail. * Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt. * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.
