Your Role and Responsibilities
This role is located in the IBM office in New York City. There will be limited remote work option post covid. We are co-located in the office, but maintain a responsible consideration of health and safety practices – which includes ongoing support for an in-office/remote office balance during these unusual times.
There are no relocation funds for this role so you would need to relocate at your own expense.

As a senior software developer, you will be integral to the process of invention and innovation. You will develop exciting solutions that change the way both IBMers and IBM clients work. You’ll work in a collaborative, welcoming environment where new ideas drive technological transformation. We work in small, cross-functional teams with big goals, so you will need to be adaptive and adept at clear communication. We strive to produce scalable solutions, and you will need to be familiar with how an automated framework helps drive them.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
5+ years of experience working with NodeJS and React frameworks.
5+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
Excellent object-oriented programming skills
History of technical leadership for all stages of the software development life cycle
Experience with deploying container-based cloud applications and CI/CD pipeline tools
Experience working in an Agile environment
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely-related field, or equivalent practical experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with working as part of a global team, as well as working independently and taking ownership
Adaptive to ambiguity and willing to change in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Design thinking methods to understand personas and develop great user design
Demonstrated ability to operate within short release cycles
Experience using modern collaboration tools in a highly responsive environment
Test driven development (TDD) incorporated into development process
