Health Services and Residential Care Assistant

Location – Remote across the US

Type – Fulltime Permanent

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Services and Residential Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to residents in a healthcare or residential setting, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Resident Care: Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Ensure residents’ comfort and dignity are maintained at all times.

Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and under the supervision of healthcare professionals. Keep accurate records of medication administration.

Health Monitoring: Monitor and document residents’ health conditions, including vital signs, weight, and general well-being. Report any changes or concerns to the healthcare manager or supervisor promptly.

Meal Assistance: Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding residents as needed. Ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration, adhering to any dietary restrictions or requirements.

Social and Emotional Support: Engage residents in social activities, conversation, and recreational programs to promote mental and emotional well-being. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.

Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents. Assist with housekeeping duties such as making beds, cleaning rooms, and laundering residents’ clothing.

Mobility Assistance: Help residents with mobility, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs, assisting with walking, and ensuring they have access to necessary mobility aids.

Personal Care Plans: Follow individualized care plans for each resident, ensuring that their specific needs and preferences are met. Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to the development of care strategies.

Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards in the delivery of care. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and records.

Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare team members. Provide updates on residents’ conditions and participate in handover meetings.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or similar qualification is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare or residential care setting is highly desirable. Experience working with elderly individuals or those with disabilities is a plus.

Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.

Attention to detail and ability to follow care plans and protocols accurately.

Physical stamina to assist with resident mobility and perform other physically demanding tasks.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move residents, perform tasks that require physical effort, and stand or walk for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or similar certification.

First aid and CPR certification.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a residential care setting.
