Responsibilities:
This HR Generalist is responsible for the execution of all operational Human Resources related activities within a multi- plant/corporate environment. This includes employee relations, recruitment, safety, training, development and performance management. This position must partner with the Site Leadership Team to ensure continual alignment of HR objectives with that of the business and our employees. This must be accomplished with a continuous improvement mindset while also maintaining a safe work environment for all our employees.
.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as primary point of contact for employees on all human resources related items. Leverages Field/Corporate HR as functional experts for guidance on more complex matters.
Ensures a positive employee relations environment through strong relationships at all levels of the organization. Conducts internal investigations to resolve any employee relations matters and advises management of findings and required actions to resolve any employee relations problems.
Partners with the Plant Management team to support business objectives.
Oversees the hiring process for non-exempt plant positions, including; working with the management team to determine staffing needs, conducting interviews, candidate selection and offer recommendations.
Oversees the contracting of temporary workers for the facilities; this involves submitting initial requests, schedules interviews, sending end of assignment notices and tracking headcount.
Conducts New Employee orientations for exempt and non-exempt employees.
Navigates managers and employees through the performance management process, including the assessment and development of internal talent, coaching and counseling, performance/behavioral improvement and the writing and execution of performance reviews.
Administers, interprets and complies with federal, state and local employment laws, as well as Corporate and Plant policies and procedures.
Handles all administrative functions regarding employee changes utilizing the ADP HRIS System.
Responsible for the Leave Administration Process for the Site(s).
Identifies training and development opportunities for both managers and employees. Develops and implements plant-wide training as needed.
Participates with the Human Resources team on company-wide HR initiatives and long-term HR strategic planning.
Oversees the plant safety programs and ensures compliance with all safety standards and reporting requirements.
Participates on the Wellness Team and is an active member representing the overall voice of the business.
Coordinates special events and employee committees for the plant.
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
Involved in Project Work and HR Strategy Initiatives, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
Previous experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to understand and align human resources activities with the business objectives and initiatives.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to identify a problem/evaluate a situation and make informed and effective decisions based on accurate information.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple activities/initiatives at one time.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting HR (ex. FMLA, EEOC, OSHA, etc.).
Knowledge of contemporary HR processes and manufacturing processes, including a Continuous Improvement mindset.
