Ideal Living is a profitable, privately held, consumer goods company with over 70 employees based in Sherman Oaks, CA who has been in business for over 20 years. We have a caring, family environment and a generous profit-sharing plan.
We are currently looking to grow our team with a WordPress Developer to work onsite at our Sherman Oaks, CA office.
WordPress Developer position will include custom websites, front-end and back-end development. To keep the websites running optimally you will routinely update WordPress software, plug-ins, and test the sites. You will work with the marketing team to build new pages, layouts, and help optimize sites for website speed and bounce rates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build, extend, and deploy websites and microsites using the WordPress content management system
Technical skills should include multiple years in web development and experience with: WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and ability to build custom CMS themes and plugins
Ability to work with APIs and custom integration
Create and modify website architecture components with and without any page builders
Work with designers to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and produce high-quality code that works well across multiple browsers and devices
Participate in all stages of design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the Ideal Living family of websites. Provide technical direction for the development and systems integration of our WooCommerce and WordPress platforms
Translate hi-fidelity UI mockups to lightweight, semantic, WordPress standardized, HTML/CSS/JS with a keen attention to detail.
Developing and maintaining WordPress plugins that extend the functionality of our sites
Monitoring our sites and services to meet uptime and performance goals
Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, debugging, and resolving website problems
Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years’ experience with frontend and backend web development
Proficiency in Figma / Adobe XD
Comfortable working on your own, and with team members
Ability to perform functional, device, and browser testing
Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and data formats (JSON, XML)

The company is currently operating in a hybrid work environment. All employees are required to work in the office two days per week with three days remote. We are currently monitoring the situation with an objective to move to three days in the office and two days remotely, and then eventually back to full time in the office.
