The Legal Operations Lead, Public Sector Contracts is a highly motivated individual with critical thinking, project management and decision making skills, who takes initiative. This person is responsible for developing and delivering legal tasks, strategies, contracts review and initiatives related to setting Indeed up for selling Indeed services to public sector clients in and outside of the US. This person also owns and manages the contract review for specific public sector clients contracts onboarded with Indeed. The Legal Operations Lead works with attorneys, leadership, stakeholders and external expert public sector advisors to ensure that the public sector projects are advancing and that the contract review process is provided efficiently with the focus on the right risks. The ideal candidate will be tech savvy and possess strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and have relevant public sector contracting experience.

Who You Are
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Indeed Public Sector Strategy team and project team to develop and execute strategy and tasks that enable Indeed to sell to public sector clients (in and outside of the US)
Project-manage, make independent decisions on and lead execution of legal tasks in relation to any public sector project
Be a public sector contracts expert and act as an escalation point for resolving difficult inquiries or tasks, in order to help reduce risk
Conduct thorough review of public sector requirements and contracts in relation to internal legal criteria, risks and independently find solutions for complex, non-standard and unique contract requests
Draft and revise contract wording where appropriate while assessing risk and providing recommendations to stakeholders and counsel with the goal of meeting business needs while protecting Indeed’s interests
Make appropriate independent decisions on individual contracts regarding approvals, the need for escalation for further review, including in-house counsel or external counsel review
Escalate to and work closely with internal stakeholders to negotiate commercial terms and obtain approvals for modifications
Remain educated about Indeed’s products, recognizing the impact of product or strategy changes to our contracts and negotiation strategies
Conduct trend analysis on workflows, implement process improvements, and scale programs within the Legal team and with stakeholders in other departments.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
6+ years related experience in a fast-paced environment, a portion of the experience must include public sector contracting
Ability to understand public sector procedures and requirements and break them down into actionable items required from different areas of the business
Strong understanding of contract language and ability to extract, relay information from contracts, including the meaning of legal clauses and impact of the revisions on the contract clauses
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills, ability to solve complex and diverse business problems (commercial, operational, organizational)
Comfortable with ambiguity and ever-changing circumstances while able to exercise sound judgment in decision-making
Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise. Proactively seeks improvements to processes/systems and sees projects through to completion
Ability to work in a confidential manner due to access to information of a sensitive nature
