As a Software Engineering Manager at Indeed, you will help keep Indeed’s platform free of fraudulent actions and content thereby increasing the safety and security for both employers and job seekers. You’ll help lead and build a team focused on enhancing our Employer-facing products to provide the best experiences while protecting Employers and Job Seekers from fraudulent behavior.
Fraud can be widespread so developing and introducing the right technology to stay ahead is critical to the success of Indeed’s marketplace in serving our mission to help people get jobs. The role requires working closely with Product, SRE, Risk Operations, data scientists, and other critical stakeholders to keep Indeed’s position as #1 job site in the world.
Who You Are
As a people manager, you are comfortable learning new things on the fly and helping your team learn unfamiliar systems and technologies. You make pragmatic technical decisions to balance scalability, speed to market, and long-term maintainability. You are data-driven and comfortable with agile development practices to deliver quick incremental value to customers. You understand that the best managers serve their teams, removing roadblocks and giving individual contributors autonomy and ownership. You can effectively partner with product management, technical leads, and stakeholders across the company to deliver impactful solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in Computer Science or a related field
2+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams
7+ years of experience in software engineering using modern languages and tools: Java, C#, Go, Python
Experience advising your team on high scale architecture and implementation of software solutions and systems integration
Knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL and experience with service-oriented and event-driven system architectures.
Prior experience building cloud-based solutions, major bonus points for AWS
Data management experience including but not limited to data engineering, event-based data pipelines, data mart and lake solutions, and machine learning.
Understanding of API technologies, such as REST, SOAP, ODATA, etc.
Previous experience, or a passion for coaching developers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
Strong communication skills and ability to influence colleagues and executives

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
