The Indiana University Foundation (IUF), in partnership with the Division of Student Affairs, seek a qualified fundraisers to serve as Director of Development to lead philanthropic efforts to partner with IU Bloomington students for their success.
The Division of Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington serves all 47,000 undergraduate and graduate students. With students at the center of all that we do, the Division of Student Affairs promotes and facilitates a meaningful experience that enhances success, lifelong learning, and personal growth. The incredible work done by the 22 departments within the Divisions aims to support innovative practices to cultivate a caring, engaging, healthy, safe, and inclusive community. The Division’s goal is to be the best Division of Student Affairs in the country as we partner with students for their success.
This is a particularly exciting time to lead fundraising for the Division of Student Affairs, with opportunities to play a critical role in addressing critical student needs through philanthropic support. Over the last five years, the Division of Student Affairs has undergone much change and growth prompted by changing student needs and interests including an increased focus on access to mental health services, holistic health and wellness, emergency funding for students in need, resources for veterans, and support of Greek life at IU as well as many other high impact areas.. A high level of excellence, sensitivity and commitment to bettering student life is critical for this position. The Director of Development role presents an opportunity to further tell the story of what donors, parents, and partners can do to help further define the Hoosier experience and will play an integral role in furthering the Division’s vision and growth through philanthropic and outreach efforts.
The aim of the role is to develop and maintain relationships that maximize engagement and support, with an emphasis on major gifts. The Director will cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts through personal visits, phone calls, and other campaigns. This individual will plan and execute a comprehensive solicitation strategy to result in the building of a sustainable, robust fundraising program with emphasis on managing a portfolio of prospects and personally conduct a minimum number of substantive contacts and solicitations each year.

The Indiana University Foundation will conduct a thorough, in depth interview process, allowing qualified candidates exposure to a variety of stakeholders within the Indiana University Foundation, as well as the university at large. The interview process will include built in opportunities for candidates to learn more about Bloomington and our cherished university.
The positions will be posted through at least Sunday, November 20th, 2022. Screenings will be conducted for all candidate meeting the job qualifications and may begin as early as October 24th.
