The Control Systems Section of the Tucson Water Maintenance Division is seeking an Industrial Electrician to perform skilled maintenance, repair, troubleshoot, and installation of industrial electrical and controls for 3-phase motors, for water production facilities. This position requires periodic work schedules that may include holidays, shift work and on-call status.
General Description
Industrial Electricians work independently or as a team to perform skilled journeyman electrical work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with standards and practices in the electrical trade.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education Level & Type: 6 month post High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 4 years maintaining electrical equipment and control systems, at the skilled journey level
Valid and Unrestricted Class D – Driver’s License
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Special Job Requirements
Some positions may require Certification to Service and Maintain Compactor Equipment and/or Commercial Contractor Examination for Electrical (commercial) L-11.
Positions at the Department of Transportation require a Class B CDL.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will then be invited to participate in an in person Oral Board interview.
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on the Civil Service Employment List. An applicant’s ranking on the Civil Service list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
