In addition to North Salt Lake, UT, this position can be located in Geismar, LA or Cranbury, NJ along with a 50% travel requirement to support the Utah plant.
Key Responsibilities
Manages complex employee relations issues and conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
Provides performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Provides compensation guidance to line management (promotions, merit, adjustments, bonus)
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and maintenance of records, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization
Works closely with management, employees and HR colleagues to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Identifies training needs and develops plans to address skill gaps
Manages site employee leave of absence and return to work process
Maintains knowledge of company benefits programs and provides guidance to employees
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor s degree in HR or related field; advanced degree a plus
SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR a plus
Minimum of 7 years HR experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal/state employment laws
Capability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
Demonstrated ability to establish key relationships with business leaders and develop strong capability
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality working with highly sensitive information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated proficiency analyzing data
Fluency in Spanish a plus
Proficient in MS Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) systems (e.g. UltiPro, Arcoro ATS, Kronos)
If located in Geismar, LA or Cranbury, NJ, the ability to travel to the North Salt Lake, UT plant approximately 50% of the year
