Insight Investments Hiring for Sr. Application Developer at Costa Mesa, CA Full Time

The role will support/lead the technical design and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems with a focus on delivering efficient, reliable, scalable, and high performing solutions. This position will focus on backend database (Data Warehouse and Data Lake) development and BI reporting. Solutions will span both on-prem and cloud environments. This position is accountable for partnering with various teams (internal and 3rd party technical teams) in identifying options, driving reviews and detailed analysis, implementing solutions (application development), and providing technical direction for the solution.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on development leader focused on data and process automation including data warehousing, business intelligence & analytics, and operations.
• Must be able to assimilate information and requirements from a variety of sources into larger comprehensive views and solutions.
• Must be able to quickly understand business needs and translate these needs into technical solutions.
• Manages complex troubleshooting efforts that cross multiple platforms and technical disciplines.
• Recognizes and implements automation opportunities.
• Understands and keeps up to date on common network protocols, security standards, system admin and application development practices and trends.
• Identifies technical obstacles early and works closely with teams to find creative solutions.
• Proactively solicits, analyzes, and negotiates customer requirements and work with Business Areas, BA’s, PMs, and Management to architect, build, and deliver technology solutions.
• Learns & analyzes complex, interconnected business processes / systems.
• Focuses on reuse, scalability, resilience, and a balance of performance vs cost benefit for solutions delivered.
• Champions implementation of standard practices and solutions to increase design and implementation efficiency across Development Teams.
• Must have strong communication skills and ability to interact with internal IT, third party vendors, and business partners.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks / projects in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Educates team members and others on capabilities and constraints of technology platforms.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experience required.

Skills:

• Hand-On experience in Database Architecture, Design, Development with data structures and database solutions on Microsoft SQL Server, JSON, Open System RDBMSs like Snowflake and NOSQL data platforms.
• Development Experience with Data migration and integration tools (SSIS, Python, or other ETL tools) is required.
• Solid MS t-SQL and scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.) experience is required.
• Hands-On experience using BI reporting Tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or others preferred.
• Experience using standard industry software & development tools including JIRA, Azure Dev Ops, Bit Bucket, TFS, SCCM, Redgate, AD, and others required.
• Experience automating, integrating, and scheduling data processes across applications with the intention of minimizing manual touch points.
• Experience performing Data Administration using MS SQL Server (i.e., performance tuning, troubleshooting, security, maintenance, and data management is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern and best practices in software development for On-Prem and Cloud Environments.
• Knowledge and Development Experience supporting financial, marketing, and operational applications such as Microsoft Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Salesforce, and vendor-based Leasing applications is a plus.
