We are currently seeking a Distribution Manager, a key player in the logistics and supply chain management realm, and leverages information systems and software to enable strong forecasting and effective program implementation

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Distribution managers determine when product is distributed, where it is sent and what volume is to be distributed.
• Must balance the business desire to reduce costs and optimize safety with the desire to have product available immediately. >Requires careful inventory cost management, detailed planning, and execution to minimize challenges, and all while being aware of marketplace dynamics and opportunities for improved competitiveness and greater growth.
• Ensures distribution staff delivers efficient operations and timely deliveries to meet distribution performance goals including creating automation plans and new warehouses.
• Analyze data, existing processes and propose improvements and new methods to control cost and enhance internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Develop a cooperative, team environment.
• Managing Staff – Hiring, training, disciplining
• Ensuring the safe transport of product
• Creating, implementing, measuring, and managing strategies and processes to guarantee all product, incoming and outbound, is sent and received on time
• Developing and implementing warehouse safety and security programs
• Managing vehicle fleets, warehouses, and equipment, and scheduling any necessary maintenance or replacements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Distribution managers must be prepared to make informed decisions and pursue performance improvement to maintain effective operations, often working beyond the product supply chain, overseeing inventory management as well.
• Experience in overseeing inventory security and control
• Strong contract negotiation skills
• Ability to partner with suppliers to develop optimal automation, packaging, storage and labeling to support efficiency in inventory handling and storage
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• At least 2 years’ experience with logistics of warehouse automation
• At least 7 years’ experience in Operation / Logistics at a supervisory level
