Our award-winning Annapolis based Interior Design firm is currently seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Accountant

The candidate should have a full AP process experience, management experience and understand the importance of a timely processing and paying all vendors within their terms. 

They will establish lasting relationships with new and existing vendors and be extremely detail oriented and organized.

General Responsibilities

1. Manage, coordinate, and monitor all Accounts Payable Operations

1. Monitor and train receptionist and contracts administrator in their Accounts Payable responsibilities

1. Management of Receiving, analyzing and processing of vendor invoices (merchandise and expense) in a timely manner within terms

1. Determine appropriate payment method by vendor (check, credit card, etc.)

1. Verifying and obtaining the proper approvals on all labor and custom order invoices

1. Vendor invoice review for proper department and GL account coding

1. Resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.

1. Reconciliation of reports and statements and points out and/or resolves any and all inconsistencies or errors

1. Manage credit application process when establishing new vendors/suppliers. 

1. Determine the need for and obtain certificates of insurance, workers comp info and W-9s

1. Principal vendor database executor responsible for vendor set up and GL account assignment

Requirements

1. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree

1. At least 5 years professional experience

1. Strong organizational and leadership skills
