Internal Medicine Plano Hiring for Medical Technologist, Part Time Job at Plano, TX Full Time

We own a lab that is managed with the help of Quest Diagnostics. We need someone who can start immediately as part time assistant to our full time lab tech. ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

We want someone to be able to run the Centaur CP immunoassay test instrument, AU480 chemistry analyzer, and the Beckman Coulter DxH 800 Hematology Analyzer.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine laboratory duties within using the above machines
• Specimen receiving and data entry in LIS
• Operation of instrumentation
• Recording of equipment daily readings, function checks and preventative maintenance
• Completion of QA Documents
• Responsible for sample preparation
• Perform inventory control
• Practice aseptic / sterile techniques
• May participate in creating Standard Operating Procedures
• Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures
• Communicate with outside departments including Molecular Lab, Research and Development, Client Services and Pharma Project Managers
• BS/BA degree in Biology, Chemistry, or similar biological scientific discipline
• Laboratory experience performing assays utilizing instrumentation a plus
• Understanding and familiarity with aseptic technique and good specimen handling
• Strong computer skills: familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is beneficial
• Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards
• Must have good organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in collaborative, flexible work environment

High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.14 – $38.82 per hour
