Summary
The HR Generalist will support the business and management with day-to-day human resource-related operations in line with company and HR policies, procedures, operational and strategy objectives. The HR generalist will be responsible for; recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, engagement, retention, communications, maintaining employee records and HR systems, HR reporting, administration of employee leave, labor law compliance, and DOT drug and alcohol program compliance. The HR Generalist is a hands-on position and responsible for delivering supporting the implementation of new programs, policies, or systems. Travel is expected to each site as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Working closely with IAC Talent Acquisition Specialist and Site Administrator, to ensure operational resource needs are met, through timely and effective recruitment and onboarding of suitably qualified and experienced personnel.
· Act as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) of a DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing program. Ensures effectiveness and full compliance of the program.
· Track and report time off related to COVID-19 including completion of supporting documentation in compliance with State/ Federal requirements.
· Ensures accuracy of employee records/information and HR systems, and are up-to-date in real-time.
· Is the main subject matter expert and point of contact for employees and manager on all matters concerning HR.
· Provides HR policy guidance and in doing so, ensures full compliance with human resources policies and procedures, federal and state laws.
· Deal with and resolves workplace conflict and employee relations issues, including conducting timely, thorough, and objective investigations.
· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., attendance, absence, annual cycle, objective setting, given feedback, coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions etc.).
· Works closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, engagement, morale, culture and increase productivity and retention.
· Attends and participants in relevant HR, business and operational meetings, programs initiatives etc.
· Provides input to HR and talent management programs and initiatives.
· Identifies training needs for each site and individual, proposes solutions and follow through.
· Supports the roll-out of Company programs and initiatives, through effective communication, training, mentoring, change management, and coaching where required.
· Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the safety department as needed/required.
· Maintains up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management and provides guidance on same.

· Experience in all aspects of HR, in particular high-volume recruitment, administration of benefits and other HR programs.

· Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment and selection (talent acquisition), training and development (talent development) compensation and benefits and practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
· Working knowledge of EEO, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, ERISA and all other applicable federal and state laws.

Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree and relevant industry experience.
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ HR Generalist experience.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR a plus.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands: The employee is required to work at a desk for long periods of time.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an energetic, team-oriented office environment.
