SCOPE:

To conceive, design, develop, and maintain engineering design documentation for all new and existing products in order to achieve business unit and corporate goals

Basic Function

Support low to medium level complex engineering mechanical designs and subsystems as assigned through expert, detailed usage of design software.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Product design responsibility of various cooking equipment including subsystems (cavity, structure/frame, electronic, door, plumbing, etc.)
• Able to work with engineers in the development of different concepts.  
• Assist in concept development, design validation, agency approval, print release, manufacturing evaluation and product launch within a specified project timeline.
• Manage technical design aspects of a project from inception through production launch. 
• Participate in cost reduction projects and track annual cost reduction progress to established corporate goals.
• Create and develop engineering project documentation, i.e. bill of materials, drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to a cross-functional team as required to support the development of other projects related to the group.

SKILLS/ ABILITY:

• High level of competency in using all aspects of SolidWorks, including tolerancing, interference checks, sheet metal, PDM, as well as Assembly & Drawing work.  
• Adaptable, flexible, innovative, problem solving skills, sense of urgency, listening skills.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Task planning.
• Familiar with MS office (Excel, word, etc.).
• Organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of various manufacturing and quality processes.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years engineering experience related to product design and development in a manufacturing environment. Foodservice equipment exposure/experience a plus.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified SolidWorks professional (Mechanical Design, Sheet Metal, or similar)
• Sheet metal experience
• Other foodservice manufacturing experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Office & R&D Laboratory Environment
• Travel up to 10%.
• Hands on review of equipment 
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
