The Operations Manager is responsible for the management of the Production, Material Handling and Finishing departments for the ITW Drawform Zeeland Plant. The incumbent will plan, direct and control activities of a multi-shift operation to meet budgeted financial objectives while upholding all corporate and company-wide initiatives and endeavors. The role is also responsible for aligning the people, processes, measurements and efforts across the facility with the primary focus areas of safety, delivery, quality and cost. The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting an inclusive and positive organizational culture while developing a strong bench of diverse talent and the pipeline below that is prepared to take on larger assignments.

• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees by following all company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices. Build and maintain a safety culture owned by every employee and driven to achieve zero injuries.
• Improve operational performance, evolving the organization, addressing cost of quality (COQ) drivers and improving production efficiency – building a mindset of year over year incremental progress.
• Set clear attainable goals, establish priorities and executable actions with defined impacts and due dates, monitor progress of KPI’s and establish a continuous improvement culture.
• Proactively explore and benchmark innovative manufacturing approaches outside of our current competencies that align with our strategy.
• Partner with engineering to utilize automation where possible to gain efficiencies and improve quality performance. Work collaboratively to achieve efficiency and quality gains.
• Collaborate closely with scheduling and planning to assure production needs are consistently met and insuring that appropriate MRD inventory levels are maintained.
• Identify, prioritize, and assist in the implementation of improvement projects or system enhancements, which result in efficiency improvements, quality improvements, and/or cost savings.

Identify training and development needs of staff, and initiate appropriate programs.

• Partner with Plant Manager and Human Resources Manager to establish/maintain people resource needs.

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or related field.
• Minimum of 4 – 6 years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Demonstrated success in teambuilding, team development and leading through change.
• Proven multifaceted, results oriented, metric driven disciplined leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership and people skills.
• Knowledge and/or experience in deep draw stamping, metal stamping or toolmaking preferred.

Knowledge and experience in a highly automated production environment desired
