Role Purpose
The Payroll Accountant processes payroll through the internal Great Plains application for both TGI Fridays and Concept stores and will coordinate payroll tax filing and payment through a third party vendor. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and works on-site at the Corporate Office.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
– Process payroll for hourly and salary store team members along with the salaried corporate office.
– Ensure that all team members are paid accurately based on information generated out of the store’s time and attendance systems.
– Oversee payment of all team members through direct deposit and pay cards. Manage pay card program through third party vendor.
– Review and follow up on exception reports to correct pay and payment issues within the payroll cycle. Facilitate payroll corrections and adjustments for manual calculations, benefit deduction corrections, etc.
– Correspond with stores to get accurate pay and time information.
– Ensure that information coming over into Great Plains from integrated third party software platforms is accurate.
– Ensure that employee payroll and tax source data is accurate.
– Timely file payroll tax returns and remit payroll taxes based on information provided by third party vendor.
– Partner with Human Resources to ensure benefit deductions are accurate for all employees.
– May occasionally run analytical data and analysis for operations.
Qualification Requirements
· Good communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Four to six years of experience processing multi state payroll.
· Previous in-house payroll processing experience with Great Plains.
· Experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
· Strong PC skills that include proficiency with Excel.
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple assignments/tasks simultaneously
· Must have a high level of confidentiality
· Adept at working in a very high paced environment
