BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Jacobs provides design and build services for government and commercial clients worldwide. The market areas served are most notably test facilities and scientific facilities.
Jacobs is looking for a Software Developer to support projects ranging from small studies to multi-million dollar turn-key supply. The successful software developer must be team-oriented, organized, able to communicate to all levels of the organization, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. THIS POSITION INCLUDES A $2,000 SIGNING BONUS
The responsibilities include:
Participate in the software development of control system designs
Participate in the software development of data acquisition system designs
Work on a team that develops data acquisition software for use in engineering and scientific environments.
Develop interfaces to test facility equipment using hardwired interfaces and industrial networks
Support hardware assembly and fabrication.
Perform facility startup, checkout and commissioning, domestically and abroad.
Communicate with clients and management regarding status.
Coordinate with other engineering discipline and departments to ensure success.
This position will require data acquisition system design and implementation that will include temperature, pressure, model positioning, system and human safety, and other advanced systems to meet the needs of today’s growing technology industry.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
3-5 years experience in software development of control systems or data acquisition systems.
Candidate must be experienced in software skills such as LabVIEW, C/C++/C#. Proficiency in other programming languages is a bonus. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs is required.
The successful candidate will have:
An interest and background in electronics and instrumentation, specifically in control and data acquisition related areas such as motion systems, sensors/transmitters, actuators, PID control, high speed data storage, communication networks.
The primary responsibility of the candidate is to perform data acquisition systems engineering with work that will spread across control systems and data acquisition systems.
The ability to estimate work, track and assess progress, set technical direction, develop ingenious alternative approaches when necessary, and similar skills are the secondary requirements for a successful candidate.
A drive to participate on teams or alone to design, develop, and deliver control and data acquisition system projects that achieve the technical requirements, are within budget, and within schedule is an important requirement of the candidate.

Criticality of Attendance
