John Snow, Inc and JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc Hiring For PFSCM Senior General Ledger Accountant at Arlington, VA Full Time

Overall responsibilities
The Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant is expected to provide leadership and support, as directed, for the corporate general ledger. The Senior GL Accountant will focus on the month-end/year-end close including reconciling general ledger accounts, providing detailed analysis, and preparing regularly scheduled financial statements and other reports for management.
The Senior GL Accountant is expected to work closely on a daily basis with the Accounting team to ensure that PFSCM’s accounting information and practices are accurately reflected by gathering and verifying the accuracy of financial data, checking journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
The Senior GL Accountant is additionally responsible to support and role model connecting to PFSCM’s Finance & Accounting staff located in both PMO offices (Woerden, NL and Arlington, VA) and lead projects and/or processes as assigned, working with other accounting staff.

Specific responsibilities

• Set up and manage all general ledger accounts in the corporate accounting system, Costpoint, including reviewing Balance Sheet to investigate and resolve variances on a monthly basis.
  
• Calculate revenue recognition in Costpoint on a monthly basis.
  
• Review all fees earned by PFSCM and make appropriate cash accounts transfers.
• Review monthly insurance charges.
• Reconcile revenues vs expenses on a monthly basis.
  
• Prepare differed revenue reconciliation on a daily basis.
• Prepare routine reporting, including PFSCM Profit and Loss report by departments, PFSCM equity reconciliation, , 4PL Profit and Loss report, and 4PL cost and revenue for deferred revenue calculation.
• Prepare 4PL reconciliation, including checking funds for every ePO that has a project liability balance.
• Serve as subject matter expert for Costpoint and solve issues for Finance and Accounting team.
• Build new reports in the PowerBI system for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
• Administrate Legal Documents.
  
• Prepare and file the 990 tax form annually.
  
• Prepare various audit schedules.
• Manage annual financial audits.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for the CFO and Director of Finance and Accounting, as requested.
• Lead and/or participate in special projects as required.

Professional and Technical Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
• CPA certification is required.
• Experience in audit firms is preferred.
• 5+ years of General Ledger management experience, including using a computerized accounting system. Costpoint knowledge is preferred.
• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States of America.
