Position Summary:
Reports to the Division Director and Operations Manager(s) for the assigned area. Monitors and supervises pharmacy technician daily activities. Makes necessary arrangements to keep workflow organized and efficient. Responsible for working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness. Promotes the safe and effective use of medications by consulting with other health care professionals concerning problems. Instructs patients and families on their medications. Provides education to patients, students, residents, and pharmacists.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm. D. degree, or B.S. and 1 year of experience required. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required. Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.
Work Experience:
Previous clinical health-system experience is desired. 1 year of residency experienced preferred.
