What you will do

• Manage VAVE, NPI and redesigns of embedded control products tailored for the HVAC industry.
• Coordinate / align hardware development with the embedded software team.
• Form and refine high-performing, self-directed technical teams that take high-level product concepts and drive them through the evaluation and exploration of potential solutions.
• Facilitate early project specification clarity and scope definition, adjust / manage to rapid development cadences, sand proactively manage risks and minimize / mitigate issues during project.
• Manage high-powered technical resources, such as hardware architects, systems engineers and project technical leads to converge on a direction.
• Work with Stakeholders from Product Management, Strategic Planning, and executive management to obtain knowledge in regard to key strategies and requirements while maintaining focus on deliverables.
• Work closely with Product Management, Program Management and Engineering Management organizations to balance scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources and risk.
• Demonstrate flexibility to manage stand – alone projects or coordinate the project as part of a larger program.  Programs are managed by program managers.
• Develop / manage a Project Management Plan: establish clear SOW, ensure proper resources for success, plan project deliverables, and establish project schedules and milestones.
• Manage geographically dispersed, cross functionally oriented teams across multiple physical locations and time zones.
• Report and review the progress of project(s) with the stakeholders; formalize communication plan to ensure timely, accurate information and updates are provided to appropriate stakeholders.
• Execute multiple complex projects from concept through requirements, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Actively participate in project management center of excellence process improvement activities.
•  Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations and training.

• Leverage experience of releasing multiple embedded products through development and manufacturing to build good plans and manage team to meet plans.  Use insights to build robust plans.
• Use best project management practices from PMI and experience / skill, and properly apply to meet team and business needs.
• Incorporate tools / aids as appropriate to meet time & cost constraints and deliver outcomes at acceptable quality levels.
• Understand the elements of good product development best practices / process and proper alignment to program stage gate process.  Stage gate process employed for more complex projects / programs.
• Exercise good people management skills for team to collaborate towards defined goals.  Help manage through conflict.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for all levels of organization and functional sections.  Must be proficient in changing communication style based on audience (technical, non-technical, executive through individual contributor).
• Ability to manage multiple, potentially changing priorities and effectively coordinate activities across teams.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills to effectively manage risks and mitigate issues.
