Large, progressive masonry contractor, in business since 1985, is seeking a full time Staff Accountant with an Emphasis on Payroll to join our team. Located in North Bend, Washington in a friendly, casual yet hard-working office, you will be responsible for all Payroll activities and more. Duties include, but are not limited to:

– All aspects of the weekly, fully in-house payroll function in compliance with government, union, and company laws, rules, and regulations

– Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and other reporting requirements including union reports, certified payroll, and intents and affidavits

– Oversee any payroll related audits

– General Ledger reconciliation and assisting with period end close

– Participating in meetings to stay current on office issues, policies, and the status of contracts, customers, and vendors

– Other accounting tasks such as construction billings, and all financial aspects of a secondary company with common ownership from data entry to financials

– Back up the Accounting Manager and Accounts Payable as needed

Requirements:

– Minimum 5 years experience, degree in Accounting preferred

– Proficiency in MS Office including strong Excel skills

– Working knowledge of accounting principles, IRS regulations, and union rules and payroll laws

– Proven attention to detail and time management/organizational skills

– Excellent oral and written communication skills

– Ability to multi-task and prioritize work under strict deadlines

– Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a casual atmosphere

– Excellent analytical skills and ability to think “outside the box”

– Ability to maintain a high degree of discreetness and confidentiality

– Spectrum software, labor union, and job costing experience strongly preferred

– Ability to pass background and credit checks

Compensation: DOE
