Juliette Eye Institute Biller Job Description

FULL-TIME POSITION

Busy Ophthalmology practice seeking experienced Medical Billing Specialist.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Posting charges and payments.
• Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments and procedures.
• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information.
• Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
• Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frame.
• Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
• Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.
• Researching and appealing denied claims.
• Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
• Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts
• Working aged receivables
• Creating end of month billing reports

. Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in medical billing required
• Adherence to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data
• Must be comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information
• Results-driven and patient
• Must have a high degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
• Optometry and Ophthalmology billing experience preferred
• Qualified candidates must understand insurance carrier rules and edits, as well as possess good customer service skills
• Experience using Nextech PM is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
