SUMMARY:
Assist in the preparation of various clerical tasks, such as email correspondence, agendas, presentations, and materials for reproduction and distribution in support of the Human Resources Office (HRO) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists HR Specialists by performing technical and administrative work in support of position classification and recruitment programs and functions.
Provide support when needed with locating and summarizing information from classification standards and position descriptions.
Assisting in the preparation of desk audits; finalizing position classification actions by completing position cover sheets and automated systems actions; maintaining master position description files and competitive level records
Respond to routine telephone requests, refer calls and customers to appropriate staff.
Assists by performing administrative work in support of recruitment and placement programs including merit promotion and delegated examining functions.
Assists in issuing vacancy announcements; screening applications to determine completeness and basic eligibility; preparing certificates of qualified candidates; generating receipt acknowledgments and final action responses.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Other related duties may be assigned.

None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree preferred with two (2) years of HR-related experience, or four (4) years of HR-related experience in lieu of degree.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite products (i.e. MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12.
