Our client, a leading network and telecommunication company based in Chicago is seeking a IT Project Manager to join their team.
Job type: 6 months with possibility of extension
Location: Chicago, IL – Remote
Role & Duties:
Ensure overall successful project delivery (on-time, on-budget, high quality, meeting business outcomes)
Lead projects with overall responsibility for successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, status reporting and closure
Drive activities to achieve measurable outcomes by managing schedule, resource, scope, deliverables, budget, risk, issue, assumptions, dependency, vendor relationship and communications
Work jointly with Business and Functional Leads to manage and track Project scope and decisions
Collaborate with project and program leads to create overarching business cases, project charters, communication plans, delivery timelines, detailed schedules and resources required
Plan, schedule and manage Testing events across multiple Business Functions for successful timely delivery
Schedule and oversee Change Management activities along with Organizational Change Management Leads
Provides timely updates to the IT leads, functional leads, IT PMO, and key stakeholders by producing regular status reports and steering governance updates
Serve as a Scrum Master for the Project Scrum team and facilitate scrum ceremonies
Work closely with IT PMO and Cross functional DevOps teams to understand Scrum Process and manage cross functional dependencies
Create a collaborative environment which allows the team and stakeholders to interact closely
Remove the obstacles or impediments faced by the team in its work
Mentor the team members to adopt truly Agile mindset, including ownership, self-management and empowerment
Expected Skills:
Project management skills: create and execute project plans, proactively manage risks/issues, maintain compliance with project management processes, an eye for detail, independently maintain project documentation, drive follow-up on open actions etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills: Identifies opportunities or problems and acts quickly and decisively to respond to the situation. Ability to drive productive conversations and team meetings. Active listening skills.
Excellent People skills: a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflict, be able to work with cross-functional teams
Excellent Interpersonal skills to develop great working relationship with Business Partners and Project Stakeholders
Well versed with Agile framework and Scrum Ceremonies to facilitate Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review and Retrospective
Very strong team player, able to foster teamwork, collaboration and a positive working environment to the project team.
Analytical skills: ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives and recommend sound decisions
Strong aptitude to learn and self-motivated
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
High degree of professionalism and integrity
Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information

Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
4-5+ years in IT project management
Working experience with Agile tool sets Jira, Confluence etc
Proven experience in using project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project
Additional preferred certification and experience:
PMP certification
Scrum Master certification
Scrum master experience
Knowledge of ITIL
Knowledge of Change Management to ensure service adoption
