The Kennedy Krieger School Program includes a number of programs that offer services to children with learning challenges. Students aged 5-21 receive instruction that focuses on the development of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills in an environment that recognizes and capitalizes on the individual strengths of each child. During the school year, the position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 745am-345pm.

During the summer, the position is 30 hours per week, working Monday through Thursday from 745am-315pm.

• Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
• Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.
• Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Must be able to travel to and from different locations and sites in the greater Baltimore
• Must be physically present at the assigned job site.
• Able to work on different inpatient units and to lift, transfer and move patients as required..
• Must be able to lift and assist patients where necessary. Add to what weight limit
• *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.
• *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.

EDUCATION

• BA/BS in Child Life/Child Development, Education, Recreation or related field

EXPERIENCE

• Two years experience with pediatric population in hospital, structured recreation or educational setting.

RELATED TRAINING

• CPR & Choking Infants/Children/Adults Certification required.
