Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Situated in the Atlanta metro area with relatively close proximity to the CDC and a variety of educational and cultural institutions, the Department of English at Kennesaw State University is committed to excellent teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and the community. With a diverse faculty engaged in a variety of research approaches, the department models and promotes teaching and scholarship that honors humanistic traditions while making a range of contributions to university and civic life.
With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,000 degree-seeking students, the Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences, the largest college at the university, prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields, including several science- and health-related fields, to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. The home of three schools and eight departments, the College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric of Science in the Department of English that begins August 2023.
Responsibilities
A commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by strong scholarship, service, and support for student success is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Specific responsibilities include:
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D., or its foreign equivalent, in English (Rhetoric and Composition) or a closely related field is required, with specializations in rhetoric of science or health and medical rhetorics. Candidates who are ABD may apply provided the degree is conferred before the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
We seek an outstanding colleague in the area of rhetoric of science to support our effort to build interdisciplinary curriculum and research strengths in health humanities and medical rhetorics. Interest in program development and administration is also desirable but not necessary.
